How To Wear A Sports Bra Properly
Wearing a sports bra is not all about just the design of the style. You have to know how to wear a sports bra properly to have the best support for working out or for your other activities. In this article, I will discuss some tips on how to wear sports bra properly so that by the end of this article, you will entirely know the proper support you need for working out or for your other endeavors.
How to Wear Sports Bra Properly
Most people wear sports bras right away without thinking if they are wearing them correctly or if they are comfortable enough when wearing them. They wear their sports bra straight up without worrying about comfort, support, and sustainability.
The material of the sports bra that you choose is essential when learning how to wear sports bra properly. You have to select a sports bra with a moisture-wicking fabric, so it does not retain any sweat and cause any illness in the long run.
Also, a material that will most likely retain more moisture cannot support you when you are doing sports or vigorous training.
Next, the bra size. To learn how to wear a sports bra properly, you have to make sure that you have one with the correct size. It needs to have a cup size and a band size to have optimum support for your busts.
As much as possible, do not go for pullover sports bras because they cannot be adjusted. Go for sports bras that are easily changed, preferably those that have clamps so that you can pull on them or adjust them according to your comfort.
Bra Type and Activity
Next on how to wear sports bra properly, you have to consider if the sports bra you choose matches the activity, you will be doing for the day. Make sure to use low-impact sports bras for low-impact sports and use a high-impact bra for high-impact sports.
You should also check that your bra's quality fits the level of the vigor of the activity you are participating in.
Encapsulated Bras vs. Compression Bras
There are two types of sports bra that you need to choose from. The encapsulated bra \has separated cups, and the compression bras have only one bar or one padding.
Encapsulated bras are preferred to be used than compression bras since they allow maximum comfort, movement, and breathability while compression bra usually does not promote moisture and optimum support.
Another type of sports bra that you should opt for when learning how to wear a sports bra properly is the racerback. It cinches the back, keeping the bra closer to your body, giving more support, and saving you from those straps that can fall off anytime.
Try Them On
Before purchasing the sports bra, try them on first. This will ensure that the bra that you have chosen is right for you. You have to make sure that you are completely comfortable when using it and still move your arms or your torso without causing any friction against your skin.
Also, you have to check if the straps and the bands fit well and that the material does not irritate your skin in any way.
Test the Stretch
It would help if you also pulled on the straps to test how much they can stretch and so that you won't have to worry about them being loose after a few uses. You want straps that do not stretch too much. They will provide better support than softer or more elastic straps.
Test the Band
Another thing that needs stretching or testing is the band beneath the cups of the sports bra. Slip your finger under it and try to pull the band away from your chest. If the band can be pulled for more than an inch from your chest, this means that the band is too loose and cannot provide excellent support.
Now that you know how to wear a sports bra properly, you can now assume that you will have the best experience in exercising, sports, and any other activities you have to do.
You need to make sure that the bra is adequately maintained or taken care of and know exactly what type of bra you need for every activity you partake in. Also, make sure that you are entirely comfortable with that bra you choose and that you won't have to worry about replacing them anytime because of looseness or the material.
